We will meet at the museum and see the new Animals Inside Out exhibit.
We can also visit the rest of the museum.

Parents will drop off and pick up at the Museum at the regular time -- drop off at 18:30, pick up at 20:00.

Parents and siblings are welcome (A-Pack will pay the admission fee for cubs and leaders -- parents and siblings are on their own).

There will be no cubs on Wednesday May 6th (the Museum is only open on Thursday nights which is why we had to switch nights).

Please let me know (by email, or in person) if your cub and you plan to attend.

3 - Clean Up Day

Day: Saturday May 9th
Location: Millers' Oven
Time: 09:00 - 11:00

The Manotick Kiwanis Club (who sponsor the 1st Manotick Group) are looking for volunteers to help with their annual Manotick Spring Clean-Up.  This year, the Clean-Up is scheduled to take place on the morning of Saturday, May 9.

... we are looking for any Cubs and parents who might be able to spare a couple of hours to help out.  Volunteers would meet at The Miller's Oven (on Mill St.) between 0830 and 0900 on the Saturday morning to get instructions; the event will end around 1100 that same morning.
Cubs should wear old clothes and bring work gloves (garbage bags and tools will be supplied by the Kiwanis Club)

4 - Swim Up Ceremony

Day: Wednesday May 13th
Time: TBD
Location: Claudette Cain Park

All the sections (e.g., Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, etc.) get together for a meeting in the park.
Beavers "swim up" to Cubs, 3rd year cubs move up to Scouts, etc
There will be a BBQ and games.
More details will follow.

5 - A-Pack End of Year Party

Day: Wednesday May 20th
Location: Funhaven
Time: 18:00 - 21:00

Pizza supper followed by games and activities at Funhaven

Some things to remember about Funhaven:
  • Socks are a health and safety requirement of our Jungle Gym/Ballocity area.  Please ensure your group all have socks, or they will be available for purchase at the facility for $2 per pair.
  • Running shoes are a safety requirement for the Climbing Wall, and will definitely make your Laser Tag experience more comfortable!

6 -  All Sections Camp

Start: 18:30 Friday May 29th
End: 11:30 Sunday May 31st
Location: Fitzroy Harbour

From our Group Commissioner:
The 1st Manotick Group All-Sections Camp is an (annual) event where all of our Sections (Venturers through Beavers) can come together to enjoy two nights of outdoor camping, plus a ceremonial campfire and other activities.  This year, the event has been scheduled for the weekend of May 29-31 (the last weekend in May).  We are planning to book the group campsite at Fitzroy Harbour Provincial Park to hold this event.  The Camp will run from 6:30 pm on the Friday night until approximately 11:30 am on the Sunday morning.

The Group Commissioner has the preliminary numbers -- hopefully we have enough interest to make it a group event!

If we do two nights (Friday and Saturday) campers have the option of attending for one or both of the nights.

Also anyone that doesn't want to stay overnight would be free to join us for the Saturday activities (i.e., arrive Saturday morning and leave Saturday night).
